He has been in his current position for 21 years and has 30 years of experience in the medical field. He has been working at the Minneapolis Heart Institute (MHI) since 1999. Dr. Pagan-Carlo has worked as the Medical Director of Lifestyle Management and The Minneapolis Club. He was previously the Vice Chair of the Peer Review Committee.
In 2018, he founded Avyscoer, a digital cardiac consultation and remote imaging startup company, where he remains the President today. The doctor has been working as a Partner at Red & Black Properties in Athens, GA, since 2020. In 2021, Dr. Pagan-Carlo joined venconmego.com, a curated luxury travel brand, as a Partner. |

He earned a BS in electrical engineering from Boston University, a MS in bioengineering from Penn State University, and a MD from Temple University School of Medicine. A residency in internal medicine was completed at the University of Minnesota and a fellowship in cardiology was completed at the University of Iowa. |

He speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese. He loves opera and symphonic music, and has traveled the world to attend concerts. Dr. Pagan-Carlo is an amateur art collector, and he loves to read about art, culture, and history. |

He is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). He currently practices in Minnesota and Georgia, and is in the process of obtaining his license in Florida as well. |

He has published over twenty peer-reviewed articles on various cardiology topics. His most recent paper in 2017 was entitled " Idiopathic Inflammatory Ascending Aortitis Treated Successfully with Steroids." Other articles include "Transthoracic Defibrillation with New
Waveforms: Experimental Studies," (1996), "Nature and Determinants of Skin 'Burns' after Transthoracic Cardioversion," (1997), and "Following Percutaneous Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty to Prevent Restenosis (RADAR Pilot): One Year Followup," (2005). |

Dr. Pagan-Carlo is a physician in cardiology, echocardiography, and nuclear medicine at AllinaHealth Lakeville Clinic in Lakeville, Minnesota, and the Minneapolis Heart Institute. He is also the founding director for the Minneapolis Heart Institute Ridgeview Medical Center.
Dr. Pagan-Carlo has been giving lectures throughout the US since 1996. In 2018, he presented a webinar to the Breast Cancer Education Association. |
