Dr. Koutsoumbelis is the Chairman of Orthopedic and Spinal Surgery at Mount Sinai South Nassau in Long Island, New York. A position that he has held for a number of years. He also serves as the Orthopedic Spinal Surgeon for the New York Chiari Institute, where thousands of patients have travelled from all over the world for their complex spinal surgeries. |

He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a Fellow of the AO Spine. He maintains active affiliation with the Medical Society of New York and Nassau County, the North American Spine Association, and the Scoliosis Research Society. Currently, he is the President–elect of the Medical Society and Staff at Mt. Sinai Hospital South Nassau. He also participates in golf outings to help underprivileged children. |

He earned a BS in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University. He then earned a MD from the University of Akron School of Medicine An Orthopedic Surgical Residency was completed at Northwell Health (Manhasset). He completed a Fellowship in spinal surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery (NYC) and a Fellowship in Spinal Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City. |

Dr. Koutsoumbelis is an Orthopedic Spinal Surgeon who specializes in the management of all spinal and scoliosis disorders. He sees patients at The Central Orthopedic Group and offers each patient a comprehensive evaluation. Most patients are able to get relief with non-operative interventions, such as physical therapy or pain management. |
