As an educator she completed a Masters Degree in Liberal Studies at the University of Oklahoma in Norman Oklahoma. She later attended the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, OK. She then completed her General Psychiatry Residency at UTSW and Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX and her Child Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Utah School of Medicine Salt Lake City, UT. |

She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. |

She would like to recognize her mentor, Dr. Doug Grey, her program director in child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Utah. |

She is the Medical Director at Positive Changes Partial Hospital Program which helps youth with challenging psychiatric problems who require an intensive treatment but are safe to return home at for nights and weekends. In this capacity she trains child and adolescent psychiatry fellows and general psychiatry residents. |

She received a Teaching award for residents and medical students and has also been inducted into the Gold Humanism Society. |
