No longer able to deny his desire and elevated talents for performing and rhyming, Canadian born Steve (Stevo) Hunt has become reborn into "King Lucius". The Greek meaning of Steve is "King" according to a Greek girlfriend. It was after watching the hit movie "Batman Begins", Steve became inspired by the character played by Morgan Freeman, Lucius, whom created and "armed" the hero by and large. It was then the idea of a Supreme Hero, one that makes heroes, lit a spark inside Stevo. Not to mention the dictionary definition of Lucius, is Latin, derived from the root Luc; meaning light, and Lucius meaning "The Bringer of Light". That settled it, Steve now had the answers to what to entitle the note book of rhymes he had been sitting on for the last 7 years. The work he knew would change his life when he was ready, as well as his handle. And so King Lucius was born into "Rebirth"!
At the age of 17, Stevo got a taste for the live stage during his year and a half, with original heavy ska/punk band 'Marvin K. Mooney.' At this point he realized he definitely has what it takes to be a multi-faceted successful performer, being that he was already the shirtless- Trombone playing, vocalist, and loving the live energy of an intrigued audience response! So he left the band and auditioned for Universities for Performing Arts. He was excepted everywhere accept the place he wanted to go, however, a unique opportunity had been offered to him from the world renowned outfit ‘Up With People’, that was sitting on the back burner...A WORLD TOUR MUSICAL!!! After touring Europe, USA, Alaska and Canada extensively in a live two hour full scale broad-way style musical for ten months geared toward International camaraderie, not to mention the billeting, volunteering and culturally diverse conditions that helped him grow and break down any comfort zones and stereotypes, Steve returned home to Ancaster, Ontario (now part of Hamilton) and was approached by the owner of a modeling agency during a shift at a job he landed inadvertently at the Limeridge Mall on the Hamilton Mountain. During the photo shoot that came out of it, he informed the photographer of his experience abroad, one thing led to another, and he ended up signing with a principal agent in Toronto. After a solid eight months of auditioning and background work, Stevo broke through with the leading role for one episode for 'ON-TV' sitcom 'Singles Court'. It was only fitting that he played a white rapper named G-spot, and earned his first credit into the world-renowned 'ACTRA' union. The following season he managed to persevere during a three-hour hike through a snowstorm from Richmond hill to Finch Station, arriving two and half hours late to be in the 'background' on the set of Paramount Picture 'Narc', starring Ray Liotta, Jason Patric and Busta Rhymes. Five minutes after he got there, director Joe Carnahan asked him how he felt about Improv. Needless to say, Carnahan awarded him with an upgrade to principle performer for his improvisational efforts! His performance made the final edit, and the movie went on to theatres for three months, and on to Pay Per View for a solid run!
After struggling through a three year lull in the Acting realm, Steve did everything from direct sales to bouncing at a Strip bar just to get by, all the while keeping the book of rhymes he wrote on the subway in the back of his mind, knowing one day that it would be his life's work. 2005-06 he landed three commercials to propel him into full union member status for 'ACTRA.'
Still unsatisfied and restless, "Batman Begins" was the emotional therapy that lonely night whilst at his Mothers' condo in Ancaster. After that, It was no coincidence when he met the recording engineer he used to record the "Smarten Up EP" on the set of a movie shoot for 'Stomp the Yard', and has since become King Lucius and recorded his first full length album entitled 'REBIRTH'.
If you were fortunate enough to come across a copy of his 'Smarten Up' EP (200 copies released) you got a sneak peak of what is to come from KING LUCIUS!!! It was that EP that landed him his first live performance as King Lucius. The first bookie to hear it made room for King Luc by adding an opening spot for a "Choclair" show in Hamilton at club Absinthe. The first source of feedback that King Lucius received ever (from someone he didn't know prior) was "you killed that man"...
One year later he released his first album "Rebirth" in Nov/07 under his own Label, LIT Records, currently KING LUCIUS Inc. which is available via www.kinglucius.com in both hard copy, and digital download, as well as at iTunes, Rhapsody, CD baby, and pretty much every major digital distribution outlet. Then he immediately shot a video for the first track "Billiono Fabulouso" directed by Local filmmaker Jay Askey, known Internationally for his documentaries on extreme cycling.
Since then, King Lucius has been approached by several entertainment companies! You will find King Lucius on the Coast to Coast Mixtape vol.15 hosted by Obie Trice featuring Jay-Z, Stat Quo, Lil Wayne, Vocab, Illaj and Mikey Vegaz, Lovely Hoffman, Lil Fats, Freeway, Young Moe Da Kid, and Miz (RLC) to name a few, as well as C2C vol. 18 hosted by DJ. Khaled featuring Busta Rhymes, R. Kelly, Ludacris, Flo Rida, Judakiss, Plies, and so many more.

After performing with a live band he put together at all the hot spots around the Hammer over the next 6 months, his band members quit on him. So it was back to construction work for him. One night after work he received an email from Hamilton Icon Rick Taylor of NOW Magazine, informing him that King Lucius has been nominated for "Rap/Hip Hop recording of the year for the upcoming 2008 Hamilton Music Awards for "Rebirth".
It was then KL decided to embark on a North American College Radio campaign, sending a copy of "Rebirth" to approx. 250 College stations across the US and Canada.
Having been laid off due to the cost of oil spiking steel and shingle prices, and unable to rely on the construction business, KL was in an interesting position. So he built his own studio with money and skills he acquired from the years of roofing and pipefitting he has under his belt, and got to work. Needless to say, steady proactive efforts between his acting career and his newly formed company "L.I.T International Studios Inc." sent him on a learning curve fuRtheR than he could have ever imagined.
And so it sprung The song "The Bail Out (W)hole" -a song that has evolved since 2009 through the work and learning KL did under local producer Carl Jennings at Westmoreland Studios in Hamilton, and then fuRtheR once he got his bearings with Pro-Tools and sound production/engineering. The Bail Out (W)hole is a sneak peak of the new sound by King Lucius he calls ROCK HOP about the Big 3 Automotive industry Bail Out Crisis that affects us all.
